We’ve made it to another weekend, and one of my last weekends of dry January.
I’ve had to rely heavily on different fun events going on around town to entertain myself during dry January, which honestly has been nice. There are so many fun events, many of which are free, or very affordable. It’s been fun this month to do things I normally wouldn’t.
This weekend, there’s a bunch of different stuff going on in Charlotte. Here is a list of my top picks of things to do in Charlotte this weekend!
Queen’s Feast: Charlotte Restaurant Week
Enjoy some of Charlotte best restaurants for a great price this week. You can enjoy three-course, prix fixe dining deals from more than 85 participating restaurants all weekend long. Costs range from $30-$45, any most places require a reservation.
Yoga at Hi-Wire Brewing
Start off your Saturday with Yoga, and strength training exercises with SPENGA. Tickets are $10, and the class is from 11am-12pm at Hi-Wire Brewing.
Counterculture Festival at Camp North End
This is perfect for those who are doing dry January like me. This festival is all about celebrating innovative nonalcoholic beverages with live music, beverage tastings, yoga classes, giveaways, photobooth and panel discussions. Tickets are $40, and the festival runs from 3-8pm on Saturday.
Live Music at Amos’
Badfish: A Tribute to Sublime, will be performing this Friday at Amos’. Tickets are $25, and the show starts at 7:30pm.
Cookie Decorating Deep Dive at Sweet Spot Studio
Ever wanted to learn a new skill? This Friday, you can learn how to make no spread cookie dough and master royal icing designs with this course. Tickets cost $65, and the course starts at 6:30pm
Shaken Not Slurred Mocktail Class at The Cocktailery
Another great event for those who are not drinking this month, or in general. This course is all about learning how to make three layered and complex spirit-free beverages during dry January. Tickets are $90, and the course runs from 6:30-8pm on Friday.

Barry Manilow: Hits 2023 at Spectrum Center
Legend, and music icon Barry Manilow will be in Charlotte on Saturday night at the Spectrum Center. Ticket prices range between $19-$200, and the show starts at 7pm.
Moulin Rouge Drag Brunch: Second Seating at The Artisan’s Palate:
Looking for a fun drag show in Charlotte this weekend? This show is Moulin Rouge themed, and proceeds support a local charity creating a safe space for LGBTQ+ to stay connected through gaming. The brunch runs from 2-3:30pm, on Saturday, and tickets are $22.
Lunar New Year Celebration at Resident Culture Plaza Midwood
This annual event is back at Resident Culture in Plaza Midwood this year. You can expect Chinese cuisine from The Dumpling Lady, as well as Lunar New Year-themed surprises, beer, and interactive experiences with costumes and instruments. There will also be a traditional lion dance performance. This event is free to attend, and runs from 12-9pm on Saturday
Chinese New Year Celebration at Devils Logic Brewing
Devils Logic Brewing is celebrating the Chinese New Year on Saturday from 1-5pm. There will be dragon dancers, firecrackers, fireworks and Asian inspired bites, and this event is free to attend.
More Soup For You at Divine Barrel Brewing
Love soup in the winter? Stop by Divine Barrel Brewing on Sunday from noon to 4pm for free and enjoy a soup cook-off, inflatables and games.
Around the Crown 10K Launch Party
This launch party gives you the opportunity to rRun on one of three routes before enjoying a raffle, giveaways and food. It’s going on Sunday, and it free to attend from 12-2pm at NoDa Brewing’s The OG Taproom.
Yoga on the Rooftop
Round out your weekend on Sunday afternoon from 12:30-1:30pm with yoga, and a view on top of the Harvey B. Gantt Center. Tickets are $10.
Figure Drawing
Get your artistic interests met thig weekend at at Free Range Brewing. On Sunday from 11-1pm, you can figure draw with others for free.
