In a way, it seems like just yesterday that everyone was jumping on the bandwagon of the Carolina Panthers during their Superbowl run. But oh how times have changed. Now the team has suffered losing season after losing season and most of the name recognizable players are retired or on other teams. And other teams are succeeding which means they are getting the bandwagon fans instead of us. So it should come as no surprise that currently, the Carolina Panthers fanbase is one of the slowest growing in the NFL.

This conclusion is based on research from Betway analyzing follower growth on Instagram over the last 12 months. This research  revealed which NFL teams have experienced the fastest growth in fans online over the last year

Social media gives teams the ability to communicate directly with their fans and create an online community. And, with a lack of an exciting product to promote in recent years, the Panthers are towards the bottom understandably. Will this year change things? One can only hope. But I have a hard time seeing success under third-year coach Matt Rhule, who is extremely unpopular among most fans.
