Looking for something fun to do this weekend in Charlotte? Well, I’ve got you covered!
First of all, can we talk about how nice the weather has been this week? I told all y friends this is a tease, as we all know how North Carolina, we will definitely be getting a rouge 90 degree day again before Summer is officially over. But for now, i’m going to enjoy it.
There is plenty going on this weekend in Charlotte. Fall festivals, fairs, and other events are starting up again, and now that football is back; there’s not a lack of things to do.
Here are my top picks of things to do this weekend in Charlotte!
Luminarium – Architects of Air
Stop by Ballantyne’s Backyard for this event! This event is described as being a sensory experience of light, color, and sound. It looks very intriguing! Tickets cost $5 and is reoccurring through the month.
Charlotte International Arts Festival
This annual celebration brings together imaginative visual and performing arts from the most creative international and local minds. See the city through new eyes at this event that is going on through Oct. 2nd, and has lots of different events.
Mecktoberfest
This event is always a big deal! The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery & Biergarten is celebrating their anual Mecktoberfest this weekend, and next weekend! TWO weekends this year. They will have Fall beers, food and music from 11am-11pm.
Festival In The Park
Freedom Park will be overtaken by vendors for their annual Festival in The Park. This is always one of my favorites. It’s going on all weekend, and is free to attend although pro tip: parking is VERY limited. There will be tons of vendors selling food, crafts, art, and more.
Hispanic Heritage Festival of the Carolinas
This festival will be going on Saturday at Truist Field. Stop by to Learn and enjoy an immersive experience into Latin American cultures. there will be local cuisine, traditional live dances and live music by world-renowned artists. Tickets cost $20 and the festival starts at 3pm.
Bogey Bar Crawl
If you see people walking around South End in golf gear on Saturday, this is why! This bar crawl invites people to put on their golf attire and crawl around South End to celebrate the Presidents Cup coming to Charlotte. You can win gift cards, Halloween Pub Crawl tickets and tickets to the Presidents Cup just for dressing up! The crawl is from 4:30-10 pm and costs $5.
Charlotte VegFest 2022
Alright Charlotte vegans and vegetarians, this one is for you! :This event supports vegans and vegan-friendly business. There will be vegan foods, local vegan restaurants and food trucks, local vendors, live music, speakers, nutritional experts, vegan cooking demonstrations, free prizes and gift bags. Stop by Camp North End from 12-4pm on Saturday to check it out for free!
Charlotte Mimosa Festival 2022
I had to add this one in here for my mimosa fans! This festival offers a wide variety of mimosas, musical entertainment, food trucks and vendors this Sunday from 1-5 pm at Lenny Boy Brewing Company. Tickets cost $50.
Mattie’s Front Porch’s Sunday Dinner
Mattie’s Front Porch is a new monthly dining experience curated by Chef Lisa Brooks, who also happened to be a Chopped Finalist (I love that show!) This month’s theme will showcase Low-Country and Southern coastal cuisine. There will be multiple dining experiences, all with different themes. This month will feature Southern Staples, such as old fashioned chicken pot pie, turnip greens & pepper vinegar and red velvet cake, served family style. This event is going on on Sundays at 10818 Tavernay Pkwy at 3pm. Tickets cost $85.
Best of Charlotte Bridal Show
I feel like everyone I know if getting engaged right now, so if you want help finding vendors, this is for you! On Sunday at Pleasant Grove Farm, there will be a carefully curated selection of vendors that features unique wedding vendors, interactive experiences, food, and drinks. The event is on Sunday from 1-4pm, and tickets cost between $5-$40.
OH Well: HIIT with Olivia
A free workout class? YES! Start your Saturday morning with a 50-minute workout with local fitness expert Olivia Morgan. This workout will focus on core strengthening, mobility, flexibility and high-intensity interval training through body-weight exercises. It’s going on from 9-10am at Optimist Hall.
