It’s a long holiday weekend in Charlotte, and we have definitely earned this one! Summer sure has felt like it has gone on forever with this heat! While the heat will not be letting up this weekend, many people consider it the unofficial, “last weekend of Summer.” With a title like that, you know people are looking for fun stuff to do.

Here are some of my top picks of different events going on around the Charlotte area this Labor Day weekend!

• Best Wurst Fest

  Old Meck is giving you a bratwurst festival to end the Summer! Join them on Saturday and Sunday for beer, food, and you can compete in their Sausage Toss Game!

• Twenty One Pilots - THE ICY TOUR

  On Sunday night, Twenty One Pilots are bringing their tour to the Spectrum Center! This group always puts on a great show, so I know the city will be buzzing!

• Around the Crown 10K

  277 will be closed on Sunday morning as hundreds of runners will be taking over the highway! The race starts and finishes at Truist Field! Runners will get a once in a lifetime opportunity to run the entirety of Charlotte’s 3 mile major inner loop, I-277. The race starts at 7:30am on Sunday so if you have somewhere to be, be aware there will be some road closures!

• September Front Porch Sundays

  September Front Porch Sundays are back! Head down to South End on Sunday, starting at 11:30, and enjoy 70+ local pop-ups, live music, interactive fun, cold beer, good coffee, and more!

• Duke's Mayo Classic

  There will be tons of football fans flooding Uptown on Saturday night for the Duke Mayo Classic. The Eagles of North Carolina Central University and the Aggies of North Carolina A&T State University will face off in a match at Bank of America Stadium, starting at 7:30.

• Labor Day Celebration at USWWC

  The Whitewater Center is having a Labor Day celebration! Enjoy the weekend and get outside on Saturday and Sunday at this event. There will be a Labor Day 5K and 15K Trail Race and  both nights will end with live music.

• Charlotte Labor Day Parade

  Head to Uptown on Monday morning at 11am for the Charlotte Labor Day Parade! It is free to attend.
