Looking for tings to do this weekend, Charlotte?

Fall is my favorite time of year in the Carolinas! Not only is it beautiful, because of the leaf colors, but there are so many events going on in Charlotte in the Fall. From sports, to arts, to festivals, and Fall themed events; whatever you’re in the mood for this weekend, it’s probably happening in Charlotte.

This weekend, the weather is set to be beautiful, so whatever you choose to do, you won’t have to worry about rain, which is awesome!

Here are some of my tops picks of things going on this weekend, that I think you should check out!

• Charlotte Checkers Opening Weekend

  Hockey is BACK! The Checkers are kicking off their season with back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday. We are playing out division rivals — The Hartford Wolf Pack. Tickets start at $5.

• Fridays at Camp North End

  Fridays at Camp north End are back. You can enjoy live music, good food, new public art, and plenty of small businesses. This event is free to attend on Friday night from 5-9pm.

• SCarowinds

  SCarowinds is still happening. Get your thrills out in all the ways this weekend. Tickets are $49, and the event runs during the evening from 7pm-12am

• 25th Annual Buddy Walk

  Walk for a good cause this Saturday from 9am-1pm at UNC Jerry Richardson Stadium. Join the one-mile walk to promote acceptance and inclusion of individuals with Down Syndrome. this event will also have bouncy castles, bubblers, aerialists, mascots and a live band, and is free to attend.

• The Children’s Heart Foundation Congenital Heart Walk

  Help the Children’s Heart Foundation reach their fundraising goal of $50,000 with this walk. Funds raised will benefit congenital heart defect research. This event starts at 9am on Saturday.

• Rail Trail Cleanup Volunteer Opportunity

  Do something good and give back this Saturday from 10-2pm in South End.  Volunteer to pick up litter, then enjoy raffles, free swag, and a drink at the Volunteer Appreciation Event at The Union. this event is free, and people will meet at New Bern St. Light Rail Station.

• Hola Charlotte Festival

  Celebrate Latin American culture this weekend in Uptown. There will be a street-style festival featuring renowned artists, pop-up performances, activities and a variety of food vendors. this event is going on Saturday from 12-6pm, and is free to attend.

• Das Best Oktoberfest

  Taste a couple of the hundreds of craft beers, wines, ciders and schnapps this weekend at  at Ballantyne’s Backyard. They will also have live music, German-inspired dishes, food trucks, games, and contests. Tickets are between $39-$75. This event runs from 12-5pm on Saturday.

• Carolina Renaissance Festival

  Saturday and Sundays through November 20th, history comes alive with non-stop, day-long, immersive and interactive entertainments! There’s the artisan market, arts and crafts, games, rides, and much more!

• Pumpkin Patch

  Pick out a pumpkin for a good cause in the heart of the city this Saturday! The baseball field is becoming a pumpkin patch to benefit Knight’s charities. They will also have fall-themed treats, shopping, live music, photo opportunities and a pumpkin decorating station. ticket prices vary-  $10-$20. Going on at Truist Field from 10-4pm

• Yoga at Trolley Barn

  End your weekend this Sunday the right way with a yoga session at Trolley Barn. This yoga session is free, and starts at 7pm.

• Pups on the Patio

  This Sunday from 12-3pm at Optimist Hall, bring the dogs out to play, and adopt dogs from Gaston County Animal Care Enforcement. There will be drink specials and puppuccinos available at the airstream bar. This event is free to attend.

• Toast for Tatas Brunch

  This Saturday from 11:30-2pm at Mattie’s Front Porch, you can enjoy brunch for a good cause. The Brunch for the Tatas will benefit  The Pink House. Guests can expect passed small plates of Fried Chicken & Pink Velvet Waffles, Queen City Hash, Shrimp & Sweet Potato Grits Shooters, Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding, among others, and a special Pink Drink to wash it all down.
