North Carolina Families Can Call This Hotline for Child Care Help
Our North Carolina government realized that people are starting to go back to work which means safe child care may be needed for some families. Thankfully, a child care hotline is now available to help families with school-age children and finding care.
Families who have flexible working arrangements are encouraged to stay at home with their children during this time. However, anyone who needs care may call 1-888-600-1685 to receive information about local options for children from infants through age 12. The hotline is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
As of August 10, the governor’s office reported about 30,000 open childcare slots. “We need to do everything we can to support working parents as we work to beat this virus,” said Governor Roy Cooper.
“It is a collaboration of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) and the North Carolina Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) network. Care will be offered by licensed child care providers who agree to meet NCDHHS health and safety guidelines,” according to the press release.
