Storytime With Santa At Cornelius Library

As old fashioned as they may seem in our rapidly-evolving digital age, there are still a few “analog” Christmas traditions that manage to survive, such as putting up a real Christmas tree and singing carols. One of my favorites is the reading of the holiday classic, The Night Before Christmas.
The 19th Century poem was originally called A Visit from St. Nicholas and is attributed to Clement Clarke Moore, although some argue that it was actually written by a man named Major Henry Livingston Jr. In either case, the poem is instantly recognizable and always entertaining, especially when it’s read to you by one of the stars of the story.
Children and their parents are invited to enjoy a theatrical reading of The Night Before Christmas by none other than Santa Claus himself. This special storytime event will take place on Thursday, December 8th from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Cornelius branch of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library.
Following the reading, you’ll have the opportunity to take photos with Santa. This is a free event but space is limited so you must reserve your spot. Registration closes on Wednesday, December 7th at 8:00 p.m. The library is located at 21105 Catawba Avenue in Cornelius.

Phil Harris is 50% of "Phil & Mel in the Afternoon" on K104.7. He has been with the station since 2013 and on the air in Charlotte since 2000. Before coming to the Queen City, Phil worked for radio stations in Pittsburgh, Austin, and Seattle. In addition to the weekly "Throwback Threesome" music video feature, Phil writes about things that matter to Charlotte sports fans and pet owners. He happens to be both.
