North Carolina Has The Most Dangerous Road In The Country
Buckle up friends, we are going on a road trip. Are you traveling for the holidays? The holiday travel season last year was relatively light due to the pandemic, but now that things are picking back up, there will be more drivers on the road.
The holiday travel season last year was fairly light due to the pandemic, but with things picking back up that means more drivers on the road. Drivers in North Carolina should be especially careful if they are traveling this weekend or during the winter holidays on this road. The Zebra published a new study showing the most dangerous roads in America. Based on the latest data, the company analyzed highways with fatal accidents. North Carolina ended up having the number one most dangerous road in America.
According to the study, the road to stay away from is I-95. That’s, of course, one of the most traveled roads in North Carolina because it runs all the way to the tip of Florida. I-95 is closer to the coast of North Carolina, so if you are staying on the West you have dodged a spare tire. (pun intended) In 2019 I-95 had 284 fatalities and 14.88 fatalities per 100 miles.
I’ve driven on I-95 last year from North Carolina to New Jersey and saw a good amount of accidents along the way. It was definitely a little scary driving by myself. I recommend taking a buddy with you (or at least a furry passenger) if you can. For more information and the full study, you can read here.
