It’s a sad day in North Carolina for drivers. The gas price has officially reached over $4 per gallon. The United States and the European Union have imposed sanctions against Russia during Russia’s war in Ukraine, which has led to higher gas prices. The national average is expected to remain above $4.00 until November 2022, according to some industry experts.

According to AAA, as of March 8th, 2022 the gas price is $4.173 per gallon nationally. In North Carolina, the average gas price is $4.028 per gallon. The highest price for regular unleaded in North Carolina history was $4.085  on September 15th, 2008. The highest price for Diesel fuel was $4.848 on March 8th, 2022. Better fill your tank today, because it is only going up.
