Carolina Gamer Spotlight: Meet Timothy Martin/TJxx2K

Video games are all the rage, so we decided to shed some light on local video game stars in the Carolinas. This week, we had the chance to sit down with local community gamer, Timothy Martin, and ask him about being part of the gaming community! 1) How did you get into gaming? What was the original goal? I got into streaming because my friends would play the game with me and be like T.J. You are so good you should probably start streaming. I started streaming in 2016 when I got out of the US Army. Where I was stationed in Fort Riley Kansas. The original goal was to provide people all over the world with some amazing content. 2) What's been your best moment as a gamer? The best moment as a streamer has been the ability to touch people all across the world. I pray for people on stream that is awesome within themselves. 3) What games really speak to you? The game that speaks to me the most is Madden NFL, where I am ranked in the top 100 on Xbox/Xbox series X. I also play FPS shooters such as Apex legends and Warzone. I like connecting with my audience in the live chat it allows us to really have a lot of conversation which is extremely important because we all are God’s children. I love connecting with my chat In our live sessions but I have socials such as Discord, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and the most popular one that I use is Facebook. 4) What advice would you give to aspiring gamers? The one message that I would tell all my fans is to seek God first and he will provide your path for you. I would tell them that consistency is key for example it takes time for a flower to grow, a child to grow, and also for the mind to grow so the stream has to grow as well but you have to give it time nothing comes overnight. 5) What has been one of the biggest surprises that you never thought of going into gaming? The biggest surprise is the number of people that may direct message me and say hey TJ without you I would not have made it through my wife and mom‘s death in that car crash. Also, the message that I receive about one of the people that watches the stream every single day that has stage 3 cancer and he watches the stream every single day and we prayed for him every single day and continue to do so. I’m here to spread love and that’s what I’m going to continue to do Monday through Friday as I continue to stream and put smiles on people's faces.
