It’s Official We Have the Male “Karen” Name
If you’re a guy, and you have “few things to say to the manager” then you’re the “male Karen.” I told a story on the air recently about my wife’s Airbnb mix up and Roy couldn’t get over it! Roy was having a male Karen moment. He has them quite often actually.
What is a Karen?
Not sure what a Karen is? Here’s a good example taken from Urban Dictionary. “A Karen would sue the local city council after they installed a new STOP sign that hides the sun from her window for two minutes a day.”
That definition is as accurate as it gets people! Karens will always butt in!
We’ve all heard the male version of Karen: Chad, Chaz, Eric, Steve… But those didn’t click with me. We needed a better name, then it came to me. Allen!! That’s Roy’s middle name. Roy complains he blows the whistle, he has a list of people who have crossed him.
So moving forward the male “Karen,” will be Allen!!
Speaking “Karens…”
Birdwatcher Christian Cooper, known for the “Central Park Karen” incident, is set to premiere the TV show “Extraordinary Birder” on National Geographic. The six-episode series, starting on June 17th, features Cooper traveling across the US to observe unique bird species.
Christian explains “‘The fun of birding is, you never know what you’re going to get… This is what birding is about.” Expect to see him kayaking, walking over rope bridges, and hiking to find the most beautiful birds.
The show focuses on the adventure and beauty of birding, without mentioning the 2020 incident. Meanwhile, Amy Cooper, the woman involved in the “Central Park Karen” incident, continues to face consequences, including being fired from her job. The charges against her for filing a false police report were dropped in 2021 after completing therapy courses.
