York Tech Plans 60th Anniversary Tech Fest with Classic Cars, Demos
York Technical College is putting on Tech Fest 2025 on March 29, turning its campus into a showcase of innovation from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event celebrates six decades of teaching in South Carolina with hands-on exhibits, classic cars, and skill demonstrations.
What began as a small technical school with 60 students has grown into an educational hub. Today, between 5,000 and 7,000 students attend classes at the massive 124-acre Rock Hill campus each year.
Guests can check out live demonstrations from over 100 programs. They’ll see nursing students practicing patient care, watch criminal justice training happening live, explore engineering labs, and try out cybersecurity systems. Each program shows different ways to earn degrees and professional certificates.
The parking lots will feature shiny classic cars that are sure to turn heads. Alongside these vintage vehicles, trucks and emergency vehicles will be open for exploring, while military equipment shows off the school’s truck driving program.
Kids will enjoy their own activity area filled with art projects and face painting. Throughout the day, Titan the Wolf roams around campus, stopping to take pictures with visitors.
While local bands play music, food trucks serve up plenty of options. The event spreads across 15 buildings, each highlighting how much the school has grown.
Need info about paying for school? Staff will be there to talk about 35 different scholarship options. Career advisors will help map out education plans for interested students from York, Chester, and Lancaster counties.
From business training to coding, art classes to healthcare programs, York Tech creates opportunities. Many students start their education here before moving on to four-year colleges to complete their degrees.
Building on popular events like their First-Generation College Celebration, Tech Fest includes details about student support and academic resources.
