Timothée Chalamet Booked as Host and Musical Guest on ‘SNL’
In an unusual move, Timothée Chalamet will take the spotlight on Saturday Night Live on January 25. He’ll be pulling double duty as both host and musical guest. This comes after his singing role as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown.
Chalamet put in serious time learning to match Dylan’s voice and master the harmonica. This is his third time hosting SNL. Fans might remember his earlier hosting stints in December 2020 and November 2023. He also made a cameo appearance in an April 2021 episode.
SNL fans know Chalamet’s has some musical chops. His previous hosting gigs showed off his talents with catchy song-and-dance routines during opening monologues and a memorable rap segment that had people buzzing.
Also having people buzzing is Chalamet’s performance in A Complete Unknown. He was nominated for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama at the 2025 Golden Globes. However, he lost out to Adrien Brody for his performance in The Brutalist.
Chalamet is expected to nab a Best Actor nomination at the upcoming Academy Awards. Due to the ongoing L.A. wildfires, the voting period for this year’s ceremony has been extended. Per Deadline, voters now have until Friday, January 17 at 5 p.m. PT to submit their nomination choices. The official Oscar nominations will now be announced on Thursday, January 23 at 5:30 a.m. PT/8:30 a.m. ET. Currently, the Academy Awards ceremony is still slated to take place on March 2.
