Dollar Tree is Raising Prices and I’m Upset About It
This makes me so upset. Dollar Tree, you are supposed to be EVERYTHING for a dollar. Not a dollar and twenty-five cents. Why must Dollar Tree be raising its prices?!
Well, everyone join me in saying goodbye to the low prices at Dollar Tree. The company has announced they are raising prices to cope with shipping costs and inflation.
The reason for this rise I do not agree with. New York Post reports, customers “are telling us that they also want a broader product assortment when they come to shop,” CEO of Dollar Tree Witynski said in a statement. “Testing additional price points above $1 for Dollar Tree product will enable us over time to expand our assortments, introduce new products and meet more of our customers’ everyday needs”
The CEO added by saying, “Our brand promise is that customers get great value for what they spend at Dollar Tree. We will continue to be fiercely protective of that promise, regardless of the price point, whether it is $1.00, $1.25, $1.50.” My response, no. It’s the dollar store for a reason…so keep it that way!
