Girl, The Back Of Your Head Is Ridiculous!
We all have bad hair days, where it’s either not wanting to do anything or flat to your head but you might want to consider yourself lucky even on the worst days…it could be untamable!
7-year-old Shilah Yin of Melbourne, Australia, is one of only 100 people in the world with a new found condition known as “uncombable hair syndrome”. Which basically means, her hair grows out from the scalp in multiple directions instead of downwards and can’t be combed flat.
Shilah was born with normal hair, but her parents noticed a strawberry blond fuzz growing on her scalp when she was only 3 months old. From then on, her hair started growing straight out and became even more blonde. And not only is it hard to manage but you better have time on your hands…her mother sprays it with a detangling solution every morning, and spends around 10-20 minutes trying to comb it very gently with a wide-tooth comb. Her father then blow-dries to make it nice and fluffy, just the way Shilah likes it.
The Australian family didn’t know about uncombable hair syndrome until last year, but now try to educate others about the condition through Instagram, where they post pics of Shilah’s firey mane. There is no known cure for the syndrome but it is believed to be genetic.
