There is nothing more I want in the world right now (well other than my college football team to go undefeated and to somehow come up with enough money I don't have to stress and only have to work for fun), than to be sitting at a swim-up bar somewhere drinking a frozen cocktail. I'd start off with a Miami Vice because it's the best of both worlds with strawberry and coconut. And then switch over to something with tequila. This isn't a want, it's a need. And honestly, when I think of a swim up bar I think of somewhere in the Caribbean. Which is goals. But that's expensive and a time investment I can't afford right now. So I started to wonder where the closest swim up bar is. And turns out there are two South Carolina resorts that have swim up bars.
I'll be honest I'm not usually clamouring to visit Myrtle Beach. It's fine, but somewhere I've been numerous times in my life thanks to dance competitions, family vacations, music festivals, and friends having vacations homes there. And listen, when it's a free place to stay I'm all about it. But needless to say I'm not often looking for hotels in what is often known as the "dirty Myrtle". But that means I've been overlooking two fantastic resorts with that swim up bar lifestyle I'm so desperately craving. There are also several other hotels in the US that have swim up bars as well. Surprisingly my research didn't lead me to Florida. Though I'm sure a deep dive might turn up at least one in the sunshine state. If not anyone want to be the investor that helps make that happen? I'll do the marketing!
Below you'll find info on the two South Carolina resorts with those oh so coveted swim up bars. You'll also see some of the other tempting swim up bars around the country that are now on my bucket list to visit. And some are in some unexpected locations for sure. All look like incredible resorts I'd be grateful to experience at some point in my lifetime. Any physic want to float me some lottery numbers? I'll get you a room too!
North Beach Resort & Villas
North Beach Resort & Villas is located in the Arcadian Shores area of North Myrtle Beach. But despite the stateside location, the resort offers a Caribbean-themed pool complete with the elusive swim-up pool bar. Yes, please! There's also a lazy river making this even more enticing. Get all the info here!
Hotel Blue
Located on the southern stretch of Myrtle Beach you'll find Hotel Blue, which gives off vibes of Miami Beach to me! And it's not home to just any swim-up bar, it's home to one of the best swim-up bars in the U.S. by ABC News. And while you're enjoying paradise your kids can enjoy kid-friendly amenities at the Captain’s Quarters including a large indoor pool, Shipwreck Lagoon Kids’ Waterpark, and more! Get more info here.
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Biloxi
While for some the draw of the Biloxi Mississippi hotel is the casino. For me, I'd be posted up at this gorgeous swim-up bar. Was Biloxi on my short list before? Absolutely not. Would I complain about a chance to stay here? Also absolutely not. Get more info here!
Margaritaville Beach Resort South Padre Island
This Texas paradise brings that Margaritaville lifestyle we all crave (RIP Jimmy Buffett). And that means a swim up bar complete with frozen margaritas. If you can't find me this afternoon I booked a flight to Texas. It's called self-care. And you can get food too? I'm sold. Learn more here.
The San Luis Resort Spa & Conference Center
Texas seems to be the swim up bar Mecca of the United States. And while I never would have expected it, I'm here for it. Does anyone want to go resort hopping in Texas? The San Luis Resort looks like a dream luxurious experience on historic Galveston Island. Learn more here!
Camden on the Lake Resort
I didn't know Missouri brought the party quite this hard. But social media seems to tell the story of the Camden on the Lake Resort at Lake of the Ozarks. This swim-up bar is less tranquil than the ones I'm craving but still looks like it would be a fantastic time. I'm on board! Get more info.
Arizona Biltmore A Waldorf Astoria Resort
How did I not know this place existed when I visited Phoenix this spring? Probably because I spent all my money on the Taylor Swift tickets (aka the reason for the trip). But wow wow wow do I want to pay this place a visit. Waterslides, a swim up bar, countless pools, and luxury. I get it now, why people go to Arizona for vacation. See it all here.
