Cameron’s Top Picks Of Things To Do This Weekend In Charlotte (9.9-9.11)

This is going to be a super busy weekend in Charlotte. Not only will it be the first home game in Charlotte for the Panther’s, it’s also the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, so there will be memorials and other events going on for that as well.

It’s not technically Fall yet, but lets be honest, we’re all pretending that it is. Fall is my favorite time in Charlotte, because the weather is amazing, and there are so many events around town.

While we do have some rain in the forecast for this weekend, there is still plenty of stuff going on to check out.

Here are my top picks of things to this weekend around Charlotte.

• The Yiasou Greek Festival

  I look forward to this event every year in Charlotte! It happens all weekend long at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral’s grounds. They have yummy food, entertainment, vendors, and so much more. Tickets are just $5

• Charlotte FC vs. New York City FC

  We’ve got lots of sports going on this weekend including the Charlotte FC playing on Saturday night at  Bank of America Stadium!

• Carolina Panthers vs. Cleveland Browns

  FOOTBALL IS BACK! The Panthers make their return this year at their first season game in Charlotte. They will be paying the Cleveland Browns and kickoff is at 1pm.

• Mean Girls LIVE

  Mean Girls LIVE is in Charlotte! You can see the on stage version of Broadway’s hilarious hit musical from the award-winning creative team including book writer Tina Fey at the Belk Theater at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center.

• Kevin Hart – Reality Check Tour

  Get some laughs out this weekend at Kevin Hart’s show. He will be at Spectrum Center and tickets are $39.

• Dance Cardio with Dominique

  Start off your Saturday with some movement, and get your heart rate up at Optimist Hall. You’ll learn two routines and dance for an hour, starting at 10am.

• Upcycled Fashion Show

  Watch 12 regional artists and local small businesses showcase their fashion for a good cause at Lenny Boy Brewing Company. All proceeds from the event help support sustainable and local Charlotte artists small businesses.

• 9th Annual South End Shuffle 5K & Mile Run

  Run a 5K or a one-mile race this Saturday. Participants receive an exclusive shirt, finisher’s medal, a free beer (21+) or a free ice cream (under 21). The event benefits The Purple Promise to End Melanoma and West Blvd Ministry, and is going on at Wooden Robot Brewery in South End

• Charlotte Knights vs Nashville Sounds at Truist Field

  Baseball, football, and soccer are in town this weekend! You can watch the Knights this weekend at the ballpark starting at 7:04pm. Tickets start at $14

• Doggy Happy Hour at BW Sweets

  This one is for the pups! On Friday, you can bring your pets by and let them enjoy happy hour with whipped cream and gourmet dog treats for only $3. 

• Food Truck Friday at Sycamore Brewing

  Food Truck Fridays are a Charlotte staple. Stop by this Friday and enjoy lots of different food trucks. 

• Charlotte AutoFair

  The Charlotte AutoFair is at the Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend. This event provides collector car Flea Market Vendor spaces to buy and sell restoration parts and supplies for almost any vehicle ever produced.
