Summer is winding down! Kids are soaking up the last few weeks of Summer, and parents are preparing for them to go back to school (finally). With it being the last weekend in July, you may be wanting to enjoy every last minute left of Summer.

I know i’m ready for Summer to be over! I don’t have any kids to send back to school, I’m just sick of the heat! This Summer feels like it has been especially brutal for some reason.

This weekend, there are lots of things happening around Charlotte to check out. Whether you’re looking for a body of water to cool down at, somewhere to bring your kids, or somewhere to have a drink; it’s all going on this weekend.

Here are some of my top picks of events going on in Charlotte this weekend!

• Jason Aldean at PNC Music Pavilion

  Country star Jason Aldean will be giving us a hot show at PNC Music Pavillion on Friday. His shows are always fun, so if you want to tailgate, wear some cowboy boots, and sing some country music, this event is for you!

• Blood Drive at Promenade on Providence

  If you didn’t get a chance to donate blood last weekend at Bank of America stadium, you have another chance this weekend on Saturday. Donors will receive a $20 eGift card, a OneBlood towel and a wellness checkup, which includes blood pressure, pulse, temperature, iron count and cholesterol screening. This event is going on from 11am to 4pm and is completely free.

• To Kill a Mockingbird at Belk Theater

  If you’ve ever read To Kill A Mockingbird, you can now see it on stage. The show will be at Belk Theater this weekend, July 26-31. Ticket prices range from $25-$149.

• Queen’s Feast: Charlotte’s Restaurant Week

  Charlotte has so many great restaurants and many of them are participating in this event where you can try three-course meals for a very reasonable price of $30-$45. CLICK HERE to see some of the participating spots!

• Hello Kitty Cafe Truck at SouthPark Mall

  The Hello Kitty Truck is back! This event was too cute last year. The traveling café truck will be at South Park Mall on Saturday all day long. You can shop new and exclusive Hello Kitty merch and limited-edition collectibles.

• 3rd Anniversary Party at Pinhouse

  Pinhouse is celebrating their 3rd anniversary with a Y2K-themed party. They will have “50 Cent” pints, a skating rink from 7-11pm, a y2k costume contest and 2000s hits playing all evening long on Saturday, starting at 2pm.

• Beer Pong Tournament at The Union

  Ever been to a pregame and there is that person that is REALLY good at beer pong? You might want to tell them about this tournament happening on Saturday at The Union. • Charlotte FC vs. Columbus Crew

  Root on Charlotte FC at Bank of America Stadium this Saturday. They will take the home turf and kickoff is at 7pm. $40

• Queen City Comedy Experience Week 1

  At the Blumenthal, they will be celebrating great comedy for the next few weeks. This comedy festival will highlight dozens of local and national comedians across several venues in the city. The festival runs through Aug 28th, and tickets vary depending on show.

• Pick Up at the Park at Freedom Park

  Help clean one of Charlotte’s most known parks. People will be picking up litter and debris around the park on Sunday starting at 10am. Lunch will follow and the event is free to attend.
