If you’re looking to catch a Knights game you’ll have to wait as the ACC Championship Baseball is at Truist Field all this week. But the good news is there is still some very good baseball to catch. If you haven’t watched college baseball you’re missing out. Great pitching, lots of hitting (those metal bats make a difference), and college rivalries make it so much fun!
Not every ACC team makes the tournament just the top 12 teams. This year that includes (in order of seeding):
- Virginia Tech (A)
- Louisville (B)
- Miami (C)
- Notre Dame (D)
- Virginia (D)
- Wake Forest (C)
- Georgia Tech (B)
- North Carolina (A)
- Florida State (D)
- NC State (C)
- Pitt (B)
- Clemson (A)
The teams are divided into four pools of three (designated above by A, B, C, D). Each team will play one game against each of the other two opponents in its pool Tuesday through Friday (May 24-27). Following those games, the four teams with the best records within their respective pools will advance to Saturday’s semifinals. The winners of the semifinals will play on Sunday in the ACC Championship Game.
Weekday games take place at 11 am, 3 pm, and 7 pm daily. So tell your boss you’ll be out of the office and take an early lunch or happy hour. Or close out the day with the nightcap. There is sure to be a matchup for everyone to catch.
