One of the best parts of going to camp growing up was the smores! Every Tuesday night was "Cabin Night" which ended with smores. Unfortunately in real life smores just aren't that accessible. I live in an apartment so having a fire is out of the question. Plus it seems so much harder as an adult to get that smoke smell out of my hair! But the good news is there are plenty of ways to enjoy smores without a campfire. In fact, one time in college we tried a microwave (epic fail) and a lighter. While the lighter did work, I don't recommend that (especially not in a dorm) and it took a LONG time!

Today happens to be National Smores Day, which seemed like the perfect time to share some of the easier ways to enjoy those toasty marshmallows, melted chocolate, and graham crackers. Though using an actual stick you found on the ground and probably catching your marshmallow on fire is a childhood right passage. To make this list I consulted TikTok (because where else would I go). It features some life hacks to substitute for that open flame and some variations on classic smores.

Not mentioned here but one I found interested was substituting a Reese's for the chocolate bar. May have to try that soon!
