New Rush DVD To Be Released In The Spring
Rush will continue its practice of documenting concert tours with the release of a new live DVD on May 21.
The set was filmed during November shows in Dallas and Phoenix during the first leg of the Canadian trio’s Clockwork Angels Tour, according to the fan site Rush Is A Band.
This will be the seventh Rush live DVD since 2003’s “Rush in Rio,” though “Rush Replay X 3” from 2006 was actually a box set of previously released 1980s shows. Guitarist Alex Lifeson tells us that Rush never takes its enduring live following for granted:
“I know for me, and I would say it’s true of all of us, we felt that you’ve got to enjoy every moment that you’re out there doing this. It’s a privilege to be able to play music, especially for your whole life. And it’s an even greater privilege to have such a fantastic audience who’s willing to support you and listen to what you’re doing and become so passionate like Rush fans have become.”
“You know, it’s really, really something special and it’s never lost on us, and certainly in the last 10 years I would say every night on stage is like the last gig, and we don’t take it for granted at all, ever, ever.”
Rush has a 10-date swing through the U.K. and Europe planned for late May and early June, including the Sweden Rock Festival on June 8 in Solvesborg, to follow its April 18 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Los Angeles.
