Cameron’s Review of Charlotte’s New Restaurant: Dave’s Hot Chicken

New restaurant alert; Dave's Hot Chicken is finally opening in Charlotte!

Almost a year ago to the day, I shared with you that Charlotte would be getting a new Nashville hot chicken restaurant, Dave's Hot Chicken. Since then, I have patiently waited and watched as the restaurant has been going up in my neighborhood in Charlotte.

The new Dave's Hot Chicken restaurant is located in Plaza Midwood, on Central Ave. It's getting ready to open, and yesterday, I had the privilege to get in early and try it!

Here are the pictures I took, and my honest review of Dave's Hot Chicken.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this new restaurant in Charlotte. I do think people will be surprised by the heat. I love spicy things, and I found HOT to be almost too much for me on just a tender. I have no idea how my boyfriend tried the REAPER spice level.

You do get a lot of food for the price, too! We were both very full afterwards. The staff was all very nice, and the service was VERY fast. Our food was ready before we could even find a seat.

Everyone can agree that fried chicken is the meal of meals. Crispy, tender, fried chicken is something I can enjoy any day of the week for any meal—honestly, chicken and waffles in the morning and chicken and fries at night. Ever argued about who has the best fried chicken? There is always an argument about Zaxby's vs. Raising Canes or KFC and Popeye's. So many places offer some of our favorite fast-food fried chicken and lucky for us there has been a fried chicken war.

Another factor to keep in mind is that not every chain is located in every state. But for those that are popular, the results may differ. Coming in at the #1 spot as the most popular restaurant is Chick-Fil-A with 22 states ranking them as their top. In second place, KFC took the top spot for 12 states favorite fast food fried chicken. Were you expecting that? I surely was not. But, what might shock you even more are the results from individual states. Check out Top Data's list of top fried chicken fast food spots in each state.

All in all, I would definitely recommend trying out Dave's Hot Chicken! We don't really have any other Nashville Hot Chicken places in Charlotte, so I think this concept will do really well here.
