If you’ve ever thought about getting into the construction business, it IS a pretty booming business. According to Associate General Contractors of America, it is a major contributor to the U.S. economy, employing millions of people (8.4 million last year) and creating nearly $2.1 trillion worth of structures each year.
How many women are a part of these numbers? An article last year stated women used to make up 9 out of every 100 employees in the construction workforce. The number of females employed in the construction field is on the rise. As of November last year, the U.S. Dept of Commerce reports the share of women in construction is just over 14%.
