CHICAGO, ILLINOIS – MAY 06: A sign hangs outside of a Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen restaurant on May 06, 2021 in Chicago, Illinois. Chicken prices have risen sharply this year as suppliers struggle to keep up with demand, fueled in part, by the popularity of new chicken offerings from fast-food restaurants. Starting January 31, Popeyes will roll out three new creations made together with Don Julio Tequila across select U.S. cities.

Stepping away from its usual offerings, the chicken chain created a Concha Chicken Sandwich, tangy Louisiana Garlic Wings, and a colorful Spicy Strawberry Hibiscus Mocktail. These items blend Southern cooking style with Mexican-inspired flavors.

The special menu will pop up in five major cities - New York City, Miami, New Orleans, Philadelphia, and Kansas City. After the initial release, only the New Orleans flagship store will keep serving these items until Super Bowl Sunday ends.

People report that bargain seekers can grab some deals: UberEats customers get a free sandwich, while tequila shoppers can save $5 on their Don Julio purchase.

The collaboration shows how food brands are getting innovative around major sporting events. It's a clever move to attract hungry fans planning their game-day snacks.

Each item has its appeal. Sweet concha bread - a Mexican bakery favorite - holds the crispy chicken, while classic Louisiana spices give the wings their kick.

The city choices weren't random. Customer data shows strong fan bases for both brands in these areas.

They didn't leave out non-drinkers. The mocktail offers a different take on usual game day drinks. The clock is running, fans only have nine days to try these special items before they disappear from most spots.
