There is so much to love about solo travel. As someone who enjoys traveling for just about anything, a solo vacation is one of those things that really allows you to reset. Recently, Charlotte, North Carolina was named one of the best cities for solo female travel.

As a woman, there are tons of things to be aware of when you are traveling by yourself. You are always wanting to be safe, find things to do alone, and overall enjoy your experience. Well, Forbes is saying Charlotte is one of the best destinations in the U.S. for solo female travel.

If you are considering where to go for your first solo trip, then I say come on to Charlotte. Or if you are already here and looking to do a staycation, might as well book a room in Uptown or something and enjoy. But what is there to do in Charlotte?

Things to Do in Charlotte

A few things to start are the many museums that are in the Charlotte area. From the Museum of Illusions if you are looking for something fun. Or you can go to the Mint Museum which hosts many different art exhibits. Then it's time for lunch!

Grab a quick bite to eat in Uptown by yourself while you explore. Try some favorites like Kitchen + Kocktails in the Epicenter, the Urban District Market food court for tons of options, or check out any random little hidden gem you may find tucked away.

Charlotte has tons to do and seems pretty safe overall. As a woman that lives here, be mindful of your surroundings but most times you are able to get in and out of wherever you are and then enjoy the night in your hotel room. I am no fan of the girls going out alone at night, so if you do just be mindful and careful!
