Jennifer Aniston Endured Scrutiny About Not Having Kids
Jennifer Aniston attends the 2024 Critics Choice Awards on January 14, 2024 in Santa Monica, California.
Jennifer Aniston is a massive star, and she’s a woman. So, of course, media and fans feel entitled to discuss her choices, and why she does not have children. The Friends alum’s acting journey and how her love life became the target of tabloids is the subject of a new book by Sarah Ditum: Toxic: Women, Fame, and the Tabloid 2000s. Ditum is an English writer who contributes to the Sunday Times, the Guardian, and the Observer. Ditum’s book tells the story of Aniston and eight other women who “defied the hell of celebrity” and how they were “devoured by fame.” The cover of the book includes Paris Hilton, Janet Jackson, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, and Amy Winehouse. The remaining celebrities discussed in the book are Aaliyah, Kim Kardashian, and Black Chyna.
The author told Fox News, “This kind of portrayal of her [as] a desperately baby-hungry woman. It doesn’t really stand up to scrutiny.” She added that the tabloid version of Aniston was exaggerated and “gussied up” so people could voice their opinions on what women were deciding to do with their lives. Aniston became the celebrity that people associated with on that subject. The Morning Show star was married to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005 before he famously moved on with Angelina Jolie. Unlike Pitt, Ditum argued that the press had scrutinized Aniston. She pointed out that Aniston has been unfairly questioned about motherhood and was even the subject of “bump watch.” That scrutiny began after Aniston and Pitt called it quits, the author said. A spokesperson for Aniston told the publication, “We have not read Ms. Ditum’s book and have no comment to offer.”
Aniston went on to marry actor/writer Justin Theroux in 2015. In 2017, the couple announced they had separated, calling their decision a “mutual and lovingly made” one. As we previously reported, Aniston admitted that she was going through “really hard s—” when she was trying to get pregnant in her late 30s and 40s. “It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road,” Aniston shared in the 2022 interview with Allure. “All the years and years and years of speculation… It was really hard. I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it.” Focused on her career, Aniston added, “God forbid a woman is successful and doesn’t have a child.”
Jennifer Aniston Looking Youthful Over The Years
Jennifer Aniston rose to fame with her role as Rachel Green on Friends. Her character was so popular, the haircut that she donned in the first two seasons in the ’90s was called “The Rachel.” The haircut was designed by Aniston’s hairstylist, Chris McMillan, to repair her damaged hair and grow out her bangs. The cut is a voluminous shoulder-length haircut with several distinct layers that have face-framing layers in the front as well. It teeters the line of both shag and bob haircuts. It quickly became a global trend and one of the most requested styles at hair salons throughout the decade! This has made “The Rachel” one of the most famous hairstyles in history and has remained popular for over 20 years since its debut. Despite its popularity, Aniston has publicly stated that she dislikes the hairstyle due to its difficulty to maintain and replicate without McMillan’s assistance.
How Aniston Stays In Shape
Besides her hair, Aniston is also known for having a super-fit body. Men’s Health readers voted Aniston as the Sexiest Woman of All Time in 2011, and the publication included her on its 100 Hottest Sex Symbols of All Time list. They attribute Aniston’s attractiveness to her “down-to-earth persona” that makes her seem “attainable.” Now in her 50s, Aniston has worked hard to maintain her strong muscles over the years and is only getting better at it with age. The Morning Show star said she is a big fan of Pvolve, a “science-led method that combines low-impact functional fitness with resistance-based equipment to deliver results beyond a traditional workout,” according to its website.
After starring in their campaigns in August, Aniston said she’s been motivated to work out in a way she hasn’t been able to in years. She feels “stronger and more comfortable in my body” when doing Pvolve’s challenging workouts. She found out about Pvolve by a friend two years ago and joined the company as a partner this year.
