Post Malone: 5 Essential Songs

Post Malone has released four studio albums thus far in his music career. In 2015, his debut had the breakout hit "White Iverson." The track is named after the iconic NBA star Allen Iverson, and the popularity of the song helped the rapper get a record deal with Republic Records. He later followed up the momentum of that single with his debut studio album Stoney. On Stoney, he also had a standout single titled "Congratulations" featuring Migos rapper Quavo.

Posty followed Stoney with his second studio album Beerbongs & Bentleys in 2018, Hollywood's Bleeding in (2019), and Twelve Carat Toothache, which dropped last year.

As for other accomplishments, in June, Post Malone received the Hal David Starlight Award at the 2023 Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Dinner in his home state.

Post Malone fans will soon have another project to enjoy. The rapper will be releasing his fifth studio album titled Austin on July 28.

"It’s been some of the funnest music, some of the most challenging and rewarding music for me, at least — trying to really push myself and really do some cool stuff," he told fans on Instagram of Austin.

He continued: "I played guitar on every song on the record, and it was a really, really fun experience, and I’m super, super excited to share it with you."

He has since released "Chemical" and "Mourning" which he dropped on May 19. He added that the album will also be accompanied by a tour titled If Y’all Weren’t Here, I’d Be Crying Tour.

"I love y’all so very much, and I’m so excited to get out and do some more shows for y’all, help me put a baby through college, and come on out some cool new production, new songs, and a very very handsome man up on stage," the rapper told his followers on Twitter.

The tour is set to kick off on July 8 in Indiana. Before you go to to the show, take a look at five Post Malone songs that everyone should know:

"White Iverson," 'Stoney' (2016)

"White Iverson" was Post Malone's breakout hit. In an interview with XXL, he said that he did not know that the song was going to be so successful. "When I wrote it, I didn’t know that people [were] gonna f--- with it as much as I did. I didn’t plan on releasing it any time soon either, but it leaked somewhere and we just said ‘f--- it’ and recorded it." The song is from the rapper's debut album Stoney.

"Rockstar" ft. 21 Savage, 'Beerbongs & Bentleys' (2018)

In "Rockstar" raps about living a fast life and name-drops rock artists such as Bon Scott (lead vocalist of AC/DC) and Jim Morrison (lead vocalist of The Doors). 21 Savage is the featured artist on the track. Fellow rapper Joey Bada$$ co-wrote the song with Post Malone. "Rockstar" was nominated for Record Of The Year and Best Rap/Sung Performance at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.

"Better Now," 'Beerbongs & Bentleys' (2018)

Post Malone raps about getting over an ex in "Better Now." Which was odd, as the rapper is known to be private about his love life. The record peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song is found on the rapper's second studio album Beerbongs & Bentleys which was released in 2018. "Better Now" was nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.

"Circles" 'Hollywood's Bleeding' (2019)

"Circles" was a standout record from the rapper's third studio album Hollywood's Bleeding which was released in 2019. The song was nominated for Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. Hollywood's Bleeding was nominated for Album Of The Year at the Grammys that year.

"Sunflower" Post Malone and Swae Lee 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse' (2018)

"Sunflower" is from the soundtrack of the film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse which also features rapper Swae Lee. The track is emotional yet uplifting, something that Posty conveys well throughout his discography. "Sunflower" is the first from a soundtrack to hit number one on the Billboard charts and is 18-times platinum by the RIAA. The song was nominated for Record Of The Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards.
