Taylor Swift Dominates 2023 Billboard Music Awards
No surprises for Taylor Swift. The singer-songwriter dominated yet another awards show. During Sunday’s (November 19) Billboard Music Awards, the “Anti-Hero” singer took home the coveted Top Artist award and a total of ten wins. This achievement has brought Swift, 33, a career total of 39 wins. She now ties Drake as the most decorated BBMA winner of all time. In Swift’s acceptance speech she said, “The fact that you guys have given me ten Billboard Awards… I’m talking to the fans specifically, none of this happens without you. Billboard base(s) everything off of what you are listening to and what you are passionate about, and I am so honored that this year you made The Eras Tour so magical. You went and saw the movie, you cared about my re-recordings… I love you so much, I feel like the luckiest person in the world to have you in my corner and caring about the music that I make, so thank you, thank you, thank you, 10 million times.”
Respectable Artistry
As we recently reported, Drake praised Taylor in a new song released just last week. In the song “Red Button,” Drake raps: “Taylor Swift the only n—- that I ever rated. Only one could make me drop the album just a little later. Rest of y’all, I treat you like you never made it. Leave your label devastated even when you pad the stats period I never hated.” The declaration is a testament to Drake and Swift consistently being the biggest names in music in recent years. With Drake’s five awards won last night, and Swift’s impressive ten, they are now tied for the most wins at the Billboard Awards of all time. Despite the competition in the industry, the two artists remain friendly.
