Spicy new research reveals where in the world people are having the most sex and it’s not here in the U.S.
Sometime couples will share their "numbers" with each other, but many times people play their number close to the vest because they aren't sure how their partner will react. My husband and I have a don't ask don't tell policy from BEFORE we were together. And although we're not alone some people have no problem telling their number (at least to Forbes Magazine).
According to Forbes, the “Global Promiscuity Index” from NapLab shares which country’s residents are the most sexually liberated and which are more repressed in the bedroom. And after reading this study I am surprised that the US is NOT in the Top 10!
- To come up with their list, NapLab rated countries on the mean age people lost their virginity, the average number of sexual partners residents have, rates of sexually transmitted diseases, percentage of people who think sex before marriage is morally acceptable, if prostitution is legal and if premarital sex is legal.
- The average American has sex with 10.7 people during their lifetime and the U.S. has been named the 15th most promiscuous country in the world.
- Australia tops the list as the most promiscuous country, where the average citizen has slept with 13.3 people and 81% of residents approve of sex before marriage.
- Prostitution is legal there and the average Aussie loses their virginity at 17.8 years, slightly younger than when the average American does at 18.
- India is the least promiscuous country of the 45 in the study, as just 19% of residents think premarital sex is acceptable and the average citizen has had only three partners.

Looking to book a trip? Considering international travel? Seeing the world and other cultures can be a wonderous thing. One way they do this is by issuing travel advisories. These are ever-changing as conditions can change rapidly. The Department of States issues a Travel Advisory for each country in the world. These can be checked anytime at travel.state.gov. There have been numerous updates to the United States travel warnings since 2023 began.
