How Your Streaming Habits Are Affecting Your Love Life

Now that it’s cuffing season and we’re spending more time cuddled up on the couch, we’re also watching more TV. Some people prefer the comfort of rewatching a favorite series, others are more into Sunday Night Football, or snuggling with someone special for a rom-com. And according to Roku and a new study, our streaming habits can also affect our love lives.

In a new survey commissioned by Roku looks at how the way we stream and what we stream influences what we look for in a partner and our romantic relationships. The poll of 2-thousand U.S. adults finds “a series of rom-com-worthy icks, red flags and must-haves.”

Ok, I'll start by issuing a disclaimer for this "study." The data, and I use that term loosely, was collected by bonusfinder.com. And, that being said the study says North Carolina ranks in the top 10 for prettiest people in the country.  Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  And, beauty is only skin deep, right?

The data collected to base the rankings for states with the prettiest people included a number of beauty pageant winners, sexy celebrities, Victoria's Secret Angels, and a number of People Magazine's annual Sexiest Man Alive winners.  The study also considered how many models or people claiming to be models each state has.  And, the scores were adjusted based on the population of each state.  We have to be scientific after all.  Hand over face emoji inserted here.

Anyway, after this super careful analysis, the site calculated each state's prettiest people score to arrive at a number and rank.  And, the number one spot belongs to Illinois with a pretty people score of 76.1.  Now, I am not altogether sure which Illinois natives have been People's Sexiest Man Alive.  But, they have 2 according to the study.  They've had 4 Miss USA winners and claim 123 models.  California and Texas followed closely behind at numbers 2 and 3.  After all, Texas has Matthew McConaughey, alright, alright, alright.  Nebraska, New York, Hawaii, Oklahoma, Vermont, and Florida finished in the top 10.

But what about North Carolina?  Or South Carolina for that matter?   We'll find out.  And, we'll look at the Carolinas' neighboring states to see how the competition ranks.  Of course, feel free to browse the complete list .  And, now we look to find out why North Carolina ranks in the top 10 for prettiest people in the country.  Obviously, we do this for fun and it's all tongue and cheek.  So, take with a grain of salt!

So, I think we have plenty of pretty people in North Carolina.  The study ranks the Tar Heel State as the state with the 10th number of prettiest people.  According to their data, North Carolina has had 4 Miss USA winners.  We claim 99 models.  However, we're light in the Sexiest Man Alive category at 0.  But, I feel like with all the professional sports teams we probably have some sexy men there.  Or, at the very least some folks who could be models!  Put it all together, and North Carolina has a score of 49.8.  I feel like it's one of those survival numbers on Naked and Afraid.

So, our neighbors in South Carolina move down the rankings of states with the prettiest people.  South Carolina comes in at number 19 having had 3 Miss USA winners.  The state claims 23 models and again, 0 Sexiest Man Alive awardees.  But, if you ever visit the Myrtle Beach area you know you'll see plenty of sexy folks!  Or at least people who are confident in their sexiness!  And, I say go for it.  Be comfortable in your own skin.  We don't need some ranking to determine our prettiness.  And, South Carolina's score computes to a solid 42.

So, spot number 20 is a tie.  First, we start with Georgia.  Although the study says there are no Miss USA winners from Georgia, the state claims 228 models.  But, sadly there are no Georgia natives to hold the title of People's Sexiest Man Alive.  I assure you Georgia has plenty of pretty people both in physical and inner beauty.  And, as far as sexy celebs from Georgia, there are many, including the lovely and talented Julia Roberts.  But, going by the numbers, the study gives Georgia a 38.5.

I told you there was a tie for 20th on the states with prettiest people.  Georgia shares a score with Tennessee.  Although, Tennessee boasts 2 Miss USA winners.  Only 48 natives claim to be models.  And, no, Tennessee has no one on the People Magazine Sexiest Man Alive list.  But, I know there's plenty of "sexy celebs" from Tennessee.  And, Nashville's music scene makes up for any lack of recognition from People Magazine.  Again, their score, like Georgia is 38.5.

And, finally wrapping up this ludicrous ranking is Virginia at number 39.  Virginia has 1 Miss USA winner and claims 56 models.  And, you know the drill by now.  People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive awards have not been knocking on Virginia's door.  But, that's ok.  The lovely Sandra Bullock is just one of the sexy Virginia celebs.  She was born in Arlington County in 1964. Virginia's score is 20.4.
