A beloved North Carolina retailer is celebrating a momentous occasion. On Saturday, September 16, Belk will deck out SouthPark Mall in Flowers in honor of the department store's 135th anniversary. Belk will be setting up multiple flower walls in Charlotte’s SouthPark Mall in celebrations and as a thank you to the Charlotte community for welcoming the retailer into the Queen City back in 1888.

You will find the walls located at both inner mall entrances to Belk. Each entrance will be filled with over 1,500 floral bouquets. The bouquets will be free for any and all to grab and enjoy for themselves or share with someone special! Additionally, each bouquet will include a message of gratitude to the Charlotte community for supporting Belk over the last 135 years. And if free flowers aren't enough? Some bouquets will have hidden Belk gift cards in them. These gift cards will be able to be used by shoppers online or in-store. Additional details are included below.

The bouquets are (understandably) expected to go quickly. So if you'd like to see or snag one arrive early on Saturday, September 16. Opening will be at 10:00 a.m. This is just at the Belk flagship location at SouthPark Mall (4400 Sharon Rd, Charlotte, NC 28211). What an accomplishment for Belk to still be thriving and celebrating its 135th anniversary.

North Carolina Town Voted One Of Best Small Towns For Shopping

USA Today recently had their readers vote for their "10 best" campaign. One of those categories was "The Best Small Towns for Shopping". And one North Carolina town made the top 10 best small towns for the shopping list! I've never been to this mountain town, so a visit may be in order. Summer is the perfect time to travel and enjoy the mainly open air shopping districts on this list. I'm surprised that I have only been to one of these towns (and it's actually the farthest one away...go figure!) But I have bookmarked multiple of these that I can't wait to visit. Shopping and historic towns are some of my favorite things.

It's not too late to plan your summer getaway and each of these small towns offers a shopping lover's paradise! Especially if you are in to unique and or handmade items. Some of these are mountain towns there could be a good winter destination as well. As long as you don't mind the cold that is.  We've got multiple areas of the country covered, so whether you want to fly or drive one of these is doable!
