A restaurant that people have flocked to in Lake Norman for decades is officially closing. Here’s why this iconic North Carolina restaurant is closing after twenty years serving the community.  Here is a bright spot. Another popular restaurant will be taking its place.

Dressler’s is closing it’s Birkdale Village spot. They are located at 8360 Lindholm Drive in Huntersville, North Carolina.  They have been there since 2003.  It is a bit of a love story. Jon and Kim Dressler originally met while working together at another eatery.  They decided to go into business together and open their own place. They reportedly also have a Charlotte location at The Metropolitan as well as Middle C Jazz Club.

Jon Dressler tells the Charlotte Observer, “Dressler’s is a very special restaurant to us and we’re grateful to the community for the love and support since we opened the doors,Being our first restaurant, we did not take this decision lightly. The guests and team are our family, so this is by no means a goodbye to any of them.”

So what is going in that space at Lake Norman? Rare Roots  Hospitality will be opening a restaurant in that same space,  Fin and Fino. The plan is to renovate Dressler’s, add some coastal inspired design and serve fresh seafood dishes as well as  homemade pastas and unique cocktails.

According to the Charlotte Observer, Birkdale Village is undergoing a lot of changes.  Business expansion is in the works, 17 openings are expected this year. Here’s why this iconic North Carolina restaurant is closing after twenty years.   An official closing date for Dressler’s has not been announced.

South Carolina Restaurant Named #1 Best Romantic Restaurant in the U.S.

Date night is so, so, so important. I take date nights seriously whether I am in a relationship or completely single. Whether you are taking yourself out on a date or the person you’ve been in a relationship with for over a year. Date nights are a chance to reconnect and enjoy something new. My partner and I do weekly date nights. No matter what, we make sure to enjoy a date night at least once a week, out of the house, so that we can really spend some time together.

What’s a great date night option? Eating. Trying new restaurants or visiting places you both love, food is always a great love language. Vacation Idea gathered a list of the top 22 best romantic restaurants in the United States. Crazy to think that one South Carolina restaurant came in at No. 1. That’s right, numero uno. But, where and which one? Check out the top 5 on Vacation Idea’s list of best romantic restaurants below. If you’re looking to see the full list, visit the article here.

  • 5. Latitudes - Key West, Florida

Honestly, the Keys is a pretty romantic place to visit. The beach is always a good first stop in added romance to any place. But, Latitudes in Key West, Florida came in on the list at #5. It is the signature restaurant at Sunset Key Cottage in the Keys. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner for their guests to enjoy. Enjoy menu items such as fresh fish, fresh fruit, lobster, soups, salads, and plenty of desserts.

  • 4. One if by Land, Two if by Sea - New York City, NY

Well, we should have known New York would make its way somewhere at the top of this list. New York City is one of those places you visit to really experience a wide range of different types of foods. One If by Land, Two If by Sea offers a very romantic ambiance inside their cottage-setting restaurant. Experience beautiful decor, brick fireplaces, a private garden, and so much more. • 3. L'Auberge Chez Francois

Next time you’re in Virginia and ride past this place, you may want to stop in and plan a date night. L’Auberge Chez Francois is a french-country style inn located in Great Falls area. They serve a traditional french cuisine based menu for all visitors to enjoy. Coming in at No. 2 is a spot in Boise, Chandlers Steakhouse. This steakhouse is the city’s premier spot for fine dining. Their menu offers up some of the best seafood and steak options you can find in the city. Not only is their food good, but the cocktail and wine menu is some of the country’s best.

  • 1. Circa 1886 Restaurant - Charleston, SC

Coming in at No. 1 is one of the Charleston’s favorite spots, Circa 1886. Located in an old carriage house in Downtown Charleston, this restaurant is the No. 1 best romantic restaurant in the country. The house offers old wood charm with that cozy, romantic feel. Their homey vibe is no match for their modern twist on some of your favorites on their menu.
