Couples often seek out fall vacations to enjoy the natural beauty of changing leaves, experience the refreshing autumn air, and take advantage of the cost savings offered by traveling during the slower season. While romance can be found in various destinations, certain places exude a more intimate and affectionate atmosphere during the fall months.

Best Life, a lifestyle website, has compiled a list of the 12 most romantic Fall getaways in the United States. Their selection process combines personal encounters, comprehensive reviews, and input from fellow travelers who have traveled to these romantic fall destinations.

North Carolina's most romantic Fall vacation

Taking the fifth spot on their list is Banner Elk, which can be an appealing choice for a road trip. The website highlights the variety of experiences available, from leisurely walks and visits to waterfalls to exploring wineries with picturesque mountain views. It also mentions staying at Banner Elk Winery, conveniently located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The website further notes the area's reputation for its wide selection of dining options, from upscale restaurants to small local delis.

Just one state over, the sixth-ranked pick is Greenville, South Carolina. The website suggests activities like apple picking at local orchards or enjoying hot apple cider donuts. Additionally, the city offers an eight-acre pumpkin patch at Stewart Farms, providing the opportunity to choose a pumpkin or tackle a corn maze together.

If you're up for a romantic fall getaway that’s further out, their top three suggestions are Sedona, Arizona, which is known for its red rock formations and desert landscapes. Lincoln, New Hampshire, is suggested for couples who find peace in nature, mentioning the Flume Gorge in Franconia Notch State Park. Securing the number one position is Park City, Utah, featuring the secluded Montage Deer Valley resort discreetly nestled amidst the mountains.
