Popeyes Hops On “Girl Dinner” Trend With Meal That’s Just Sides
TikTok’s “girl dinner” trend has gone viral, with more than 317 million views of the hashtag #girldinner. The term was first coined by creator Olivia Maher, who showed her meal of cheese, grapes, bread, pickles and wine. Now the trend has gone mainstream and everyone’s talking about it and sharing their own version of “girl dinner” and even Popeyes is getting in on it.
The fast food restaurant now offers their own take on “girl dinner” on their menu … and it’s literally just their side dishes. But it’s not a combo meal, you have to order each item individually, and there’s no chicken. Popeyes online menu shows their “Girl Dinner’ options include:
- Mashed Potatoes with Cajun Gravy
- Homestyle Mac & Cheese
- Red Beans & Rice
- Coleslaw
- Cajun Fries
- and A la Carte Biscuits.
“With the intention to offer a delicious variety of flavors to ‘Girl Dinner’ enthusiasts, Popeyes designed its ‘Girl Dinner’ menu to offer guests options packed with robust Cajun flavors that are made with the same slow, time-honored, homemade traditions of Southern cooking that the brand started in 1972,” a Popeyes spokesperson explains. The “Girl Dinner” menu is available for a limited time only, and after that, you’ll just have to go back to ordering sides the old way.
