Do you have a love for state fair foods? If you think the best part of going to a state fair is the fried delicacies and fun foods on sticks, you’re going to love this! AmericInn by Wyndham is looking for a family to eat their way through three state fairs in the Midwest next month. And the best part? It pays $ 15 thousand according to Today.
Winners will document their adventures at the Iowa State Fair, the Illinois State Fair, and the Wisconsin State Fair on TikTok and Instagram. They’ll also contribute to AmericInn’s upcoming “Best of the Midwest Fair Guide.” And in addition to the pay, they’ll get seven free nights of lodging at AmericInn hotels.
Clement Bence, the vice president and brand leader of AmericInn has some advice on how to win. She says last year’s winners, who are known as "thehouserwebbfamfour" stood on social media. They stood out because of their energy and “impressive storytelling skills.” Bence says judges are looking for “a social media savvy family. A fun family who likes to get out there” and share their experiences online. Families who apply should also make sure their calendar is clear August 10th to 18th.
Here are some of the contest rules...
- To enter, submit a written or video application to fairfamily@americinn.com or on americinn.com/fairfamily.
- Your entry should explain why you’re the ideal candidate and video applications are “highly encouraged to help assess applicants’ storytelling skills.”
- The deadline to apply is July 25th.
- Check out all the details on the contest’s website
By the way. I love fair food! I wish it wasn't so damn unhealthy! When I went to the California State Fair one time I ate the most delicious thing! It was a fried chicken breast in between 2 glaze donuts! Everyone in my group was making fun of me for eating it. That was until they tried it. That damn thing was soooo good!
Happy unhealthy eating everyone!
North Carolina State Fair One Of The Top 10 In The Country
Fall means fair season, especially in the south. And with the NC State Fair just wrapping up I thought it was interesting that it was named one of the Top 10 fairs in the country. This is according to a list by Vacations Made Easy. There are several staples you know you're going to get at any and every fair. Free live music, some form of competitions, carnival rides, and deep-fried and other crazy food concoctions. The one food item that always stands out in my memory is the Krispy Kreme Burger.
I've been to the NC State Fair many times thanks to living in Raleigh for several years. And while I didn't make it there this time I did see the lights and rides from the air as a flight I was on landed at RDU. That was an awesome sight to see! I also have memories of every year during the fair hearing the fireworks show go off right at 1opm each night. All to say, we do have a good one on our hands in Raleigh! But when there are contenders on the stage such as Texas and NY it's even more impressive that we ranked so high!
