Gallery: LauRen’s Favorite Beach On The East Coast For Family Vacation
There are so many great things to do in Ft Lauderdale for singles, people dating or families. Which is why it is my go-to vacation spot when we have some time off. Of course I am from there (and my mom still lives there) so it holds a special spot in my heart and I am happy to share my love for the beach with my kids!
This year, with a week off, I decided to drive. My husband was going to be out of town so why not take a little road trip? And it make the week extra special for my boys (and since we’d be driving through Orlando) we ended the week with a trip to Disney on the way home, but that’s it’s own story. You can see photos from our Disney trip here.
Of course, growing up in Florida, I have friends all over the state, and I had been trying to catch up with my girl Tiffany. We cheered together at the Miami Dolphins and she is now a phenom Realtor in the Orlando area and very well connected. She also has a 8 month old that we had yet to meet so this visit was going to be special.
We drove the 8 hours from Charlotte to Orlando and crashed with her and her beautiful family. In the morning before driving the last 4 hours to my moms place in Lauderdale-By-The Sea we spent the day at Tiffany’s bougie Four Seasons club in the Golden Oak community.
This resort was AMAZING! It is on the Four Seasons hotel property and they have 4 pools including a lazy river, huge splash pad and slide pool. Plus, they show Disney movies at the kids pool on an enormous screen. The day we were there they showed Luca! We had lunch let the kids wear themself out in the pool then jumped in the car and hit the road.
We arrived in South Florida that night for a week for fun in the sun! We got up every morning and paddle boarded. Spent the days on the pool and beach. However, the highlight of our SoFl leg was celebrating the 4th of July. The little beach town of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea really knows how to throw a party! Parades, street parties and baller fireworks that go off right outside my mom’s condo.
At the end of the week, we packed the car and headed for Disney. You can see our photos and read my Disney tips and tricks here.
