Are you feeling hot in more ways than one these days? If the warm weather makes you friskier than usual, you’re not alone. According to Metro and recent research reveals that the number of couples looking for advice on how to revive their sex life is down by 21% in the summer and experts say that makes sense.

According to intimacy specialist Holly Robinson and sex therapist Bat Sheva Marcus, there’s science behind a summertime sex drive boost. They explain that the sun promotes our bodies to release extra serotonin and dopamine, the “feel good” chemicals linked to pleasure, blood flow and energy. Plus, sunlight helps with production of vitamin D, which helps to improve mood and sexual satisfaction.

“Add to this that your partner is likely perspiring more and therefore releasing pheromones that play a part in sexual attraction, and wearing less clothing to combat the heat, and it’s no surprise that couples need significantly less help getting it on in the summer,” the sexperts say. Plus, summer storms nap perfect napping and cuddling weather.

And if you’re not feeling that seasonal libido boost, they recommend managing stress and anxiety, as well as trying aphrodisiacs, like CBD, to get in the mood.
