Concord, North Carolina has some of the cheapest flights in the country! Concord-Padgett Regional Airport is a hub for one of the cheapest airlines in the country, Allegiant. They fly to various Florida cities out of Concord. They're super cheap flights too. Like 50 dollars cheap haha. That's the good news. The bad news is, it's usually one flight a day, and only takes off 4 days a week. But if you're not picky about the days or times you go, Concord Regional is for you!

If you’re shopping around for the cheapest airfares, a new report from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics may help. It reveals the average domestic ticket prices by the airport for 2022.

It finds that in general, smaller airports near larger metro areas have the best prices, while small, isolated airports tend to be more expensive. Smaller airports also tend to have low-cost carriers, which usually have lower fares. But cost aside, bigger airports do come with some benefits you don’t get at smaller airports, including that more daily departures mean if your flight gets canceled, you have more options to rebook.

Despite all of the negative publicity for air travel in the last few years and especially the last few weeks, Charlotte Douglas was named one of the top 10 performing airports in the world. Yes the world, not the country. That's huge! The list was compiled by Cirium.com who ranked the Most On-Time Airlines and Airports of 2022. The top airlines in the US were Delta, United, Alaska Airlines, and American Airlines in that order. Despite their massive PR issue during the holidays, Southwest was 5th on the list. This data was released on January 3, 2023. Interestingly, of the top 10 airports in the world, CLT was one of 6 from the US.
