The American Heart Association (AHA) encourages everyone to learn CPR and they say one Bad Bunny song can be used to save lives. According to Fox News and the AHA, his track “Titi Me Pregunto” has the perfect beat to perform chest compressions when doing hands-only CPR.

The song’s tempo has 107 beats per minute (BPM), which falls within the recommended 100 to 120 BPM for doing CPR. The AHA even created a playlist on Spotify called “Don't Drop The Beat,” that includes other popular songs that also fall in that sweet spot for beats per minute.

  • Classic hits on the playlist include “Intergalactic” by Beastie Boys, “More Than a Feeling” by Boston, “Ring of Fire” by Johnny Cash, “Stayin’ Alive” by the BeeGees, and “Bye Bye Bye” by NSYNC.
  • Other songs on the playlist are “Ice Ice Baby” by Vanilla Ice, Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face,” “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” by Whitney Houston, “Sorry” by Justin Bieber and “24K Magic” by Bruno Mars.

If someone collapses and needs chest compressions, Dr. Comilla Sasson, the American Heart Association’s vice president for science and innovation for emergency cardiovascular care, says these songs are a good way to time compressions. “Think about that song. Think about the beat of that music,” she explains. “That’s 100 to 120 beats per minute, and that’s how fast you should be pushing on the chest.”
