According to FOX 13 Memphis, last week, the duo co-piloted a nearly 15 hour flight from Memphis, Tennessee, to Incheon, South Korea.
Eidson is a Boeing 777 captain who started as a flight attendant before becoming a pilot. McCallister, her daughter, is a 777 first officer who joined the US Air Force and wanted to follow in her mother's footsteps. The company notes that the historic flight took place just before Mother's Day and almost 91 years after Amelia Earhart's first transatlantic flight.
Both pilots said that the trip was a significant milestone in their careers and the most special achievement of their lives. The mother and daughter duo's historic flight highlights the growing number of women in the aviation industry, breaking down gender barriers and paving the way for future generations.
