I love fashion, but there are some things in the fashion world that I just don't understand. Prada selling a towel (as a dress) for an astronomical amount is one of those things!

According to the New York Post, it might be curtains for Prada’s new mini dress. The fashion company has rolled out an “iron grey” frock which has been compared to everything from old drapes to an elephant hoof, to a “Travelodge towel”. The company described this dress as “a strapless silk dress meant to be both “raw and sensual,” and is selling for the unfashionable price of $3650.

Though the garment looks like something that was thrown together by a child playing with their mother’s sewing machine, Prada’s website says, “This strapless satin and pongé dress expresses a sense of apparent accidentality through its stark construction, with creased made through a wrinkled finish that recalls a sheet of paper.” It’s nice to know the description can be prettied up… even if the dress can’t.
