A friend told me the news over the weekend, and I didn't believe it at first.
But there's the info right in front of me! Charlotte ranked 13th on the list of the top 100 U.S. cities with the highest rates of STDs, with 1,012 cases per 100,000 people in the city over the last year. The US cities were ranked by Innerbody Research , which used the latest data from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention.
It ain't good Charlotte! According to the study the cases in the last year are as follows:
- HIV: 246
- Gonorrhea: 6,778
- Chlamydia: 15,784
- Syphilis: 771
But we weren't the only city in the top 20. Greensboro landed at No. 12. Raleigh and Wilmington, came in at No. 52 and No. 75.
