There's a new term being tossed around at your place of employment. It's called Quiet hiring. It's the new workplace trend this year says GMA . Quiet quitting was a thing last year and now the trend has shifted to quiet hiring. This is a way to obtain new talent without hiring new employees. Basically, companies add to the workloads of existing employees. Technological research and consulting firm Gartner says this is one of the nine workplace trends of the year.

Companies could also shift workers from one department to another. This is because it would take too long to hire someone from the outside. Experts suggest you should negotiate a pay increase or one-time bonus if you are given extra roles.
