Picking out a name for your dog is a big deal and pet parents find inspiration in all kinds of places, everything from movies and TV shows to pop culture icons to nature. But some names end up being used much more than others and a new report reveals which ones those are.
The American Kennel Club (AKC) has released its annual list of the most popular dog names in 2022. They’ve ranked the top 100 names, dividing them into male and female categories.
- Topping the list for girl dog names is Luna, followed by Bella and Daisy, and that trio has been neck and neck in the AKC ranking for the last few years.
- For the fellas, the number one name is Max, with Milo in second and Cooper in third. Both Max and Cooper were high in the ranking years ago as well.
