Are you thinking about your New Year's resolution? Trying to find the best resolution can be very hard to narrow down. From better money-saving techniques to a new workout regimen, the countdown to the New Year is here. Each state has specific resolutions that are the most popular for that area. Can you guess what Carolinas are wanting to work on?

Zippia released each state's most popular New Year's resolutions. Not surprisingly, seeking therapy is the most popular New Year's resolution across the country. It is No. 1 in 12 different states. Another popular one is losing weight, which is pretty popular with a majority of people every year. Sad thing is, nearly 41% of Americans make a New Year's resolution but only 9% are actually successful. No wonder the gyms are packed at the start of the year and then get empty by mid-summer time. As for North Carolina, our state's most popular New Year's resolution is reading more. This is a pretty good one, but I certainly do not see it being super popular. Maybe I have not been around that many readers. Guess what? South Carolina has the same one as well. Looks like the Carolinas enjoy reading a lot more than we think, huh?

Do you plan on reading more this year? Or are you thinking of another New Year's resolution? I know I plan on hoping to save more money this year and not splurge out on all of the fun stuff. Maybe save up for some upgraded lifestyle in 2024. We shall see though! Check out the full story here.

Two North Carolina Cities Rank AmongThe Best For Keeping New Year’s Resolutions

If you're like most Americans you probably made some sort of New Year's resolutions. They are easy to make (mentally I have about 7) but significantly harder to keep. But did you know that where you live can impact if you keep those resolutions? Think about it this way: If your neighborhood is lacking sidewalks and gyms it will be harder to be motivated to work out. Additionally, if most of your restaurant and grocery shopping options are limited to fast food and other unhealthy options - you may be less likely to eat healthier.

To determine where Americans are most likely to stick to their goals for 2022, WalletHub looked at some of the most popular (and most commonly broken) resolutions. They took those resolutions and ranked more than 180 U.S. cities based on their conduciveness to self-improvement. These cities include the 150 most populated U.S. cities, plus at least two of the most populated cities in each state — across five key dimensions: 1) Health Resolutions, 2) Financial Resolutions, 3) School & Work Resolutions, 4) Bad-Habit Resolutions and 5) Relationship Resolutions.
