Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts+Culture is thrilled to host a new and exclusive performance series, Jazz @ the Gantt! Next Thursday and Friday, the third in this series will feature world-class musicians Stacy Dillard Quartet. This series, showcasing modern jazz musicians from New York City, is created and produced by premier jazz drummer, Ocie Davis. Davis explains “Jazz @ the Gantt is an approach to jazz music.

A resident of Brooklyn, NY, Stacy Dillard performs and hosts a popular weekly gig and jam session at the famous Smalls Jazz Club in Greenwich Village. Dillard’s jam sessions have become legendary as famous up-and-coming musicians are eager to perform with him! Dillard has played with drummer Winard Harper, Cindy Blackmon, Lenny White, the Mingus Big Band, and a host of other jazz artists. He has also worked in different genres of music with artists like Shirley Caesar, Stephanie Mills, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth, and more.

Performances will take place at Harvey B. Gantt Center, 551 South Tryon St., Charlotte NC 28202.
