Can you put a price tag on raising a child?  Actually, you can.  It is not cheap! According to a study published in the Charlotte Observer, North Carolina ranks 44th in a study on the price of raising a child from newborn to eighteen.  It reportedly costs $295,000 to provide a child with the things he or she needs.  This includes; food, clothing, toys, school supplies etc etc etc.

The national average for raising a child is around $304,000 according to this study.  For more information and to find out how North Carolina fares to raise a child compared to other states, get all the details from the Charlotte Observer.

I have a niece that is over 18 and I know expenses do not stop when kids get grown.  There is college to consider and you hope they have a job to cover the cost of transportation but they may need a little help there too.  Does it ever end?  I don’t think so.
