A staple Charlotte restaurant is closing for a pretty exciting reason this Friday. Brooks Sandwich House in NoDa is closing on Friday, as they will be filming for NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.”
Several streets in the area will also be close, according to WCNC; North Brevard Street will be closed from North Davidson Street to Faison Avenue.
Details on the skit, or even whether it will air immediately have not been released. We do know that comedy group, Please Don’t Destroy, have been filming a movie in Charlotte, specifically around Charlotte for the last few weeks off and on.
I love that they chose such an iconic restaurant in Charlotte to shoot at. Brooks’ Sandwich House has been open since 1973, and was recently just named Charlotte’s Best Burger by Reader’s Digest.
I’ll definitely have to keep an eye out for this scene on SNL! I love that there has been all this filming in Charlotte. I remember growing up, North Carolina used to have a lot more filming done within the state. It’s cook to see more and more of that starting to come back.
