Johnson & Johnson To End Talc Based Baby Powder Production

Good news... The BBC reports Johnson & Johnson’s will end talc-based baby powder production.

Two years ago J&J announced it would stop selling talc-based baby powder products in the U.S. and Canada. They then announced corn starch will be the base beginning next year. The move is being made after they lost millions over health issues with talc.

J&J faced lawsuits claiming talc led to ovarian cancer and asbestos poisoning. In a statement yesterday, the company said it stands "firmly behind the decades of independent scientific analysis by medical experts around the world that confirms talc-based Johnson's Baby Powder is safe, does not contain asbestos, and does not cause cancer."

The company said it's switching to cornstarch-based baby powder to sustain long-term business growth.
