Many successful people swear by a morning workout, including Gwyneth Paltrow, and even Bill Gates.

If you’re working on your summer bod, you may find yourself wondering; when is the best time of the day to work out?

I am a morning person when it comes to working out. If I don’t get up early and do it, it likely will not happen for me. But I wasn’t always this way. I used to only workout in the afternoon. But does it really matter when you work out?

Well, the answer is yes, and no.

According to a study, done by Frontiers in Physiology, they examined workout patterns and whether or not there is a different with people working out in the morning or at night.

According to WCNC, “The study found that women who exercised in the morning reduced abdominal fat and blood pressure, while women who worked out at night enhanced muscular performance. Men who participated in the study didn’t have much difference in their performance based on the time of day.”

What really matters is consistency.

So the big takeaway from this study wasn’t so much that the time of day matters, but more so, do whatever works best for you to keep you coming back!
